About

I did my Master's at the University of Amsterdam, working on X-ray binaries under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michiel van der Klis and Prof. Dr. Ed van den Heuvel.
In 2005, I started as a Ph.D. student at Leiden Observatory. The research mainly focussed on the discs in young stellar objects, studied using millimetre interferometers such as the Submillimeter Array and the Australia Telescope Compact Array. I graduated in April 2009.
I did two short postdoctoral stints at Leiden University and the Joint Institute for VLBI in Europe. I taught Physics for one year at Het Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest. After obtaining my Masters of Science in Teaching Physics I moved to Singapore, where I have been teaching Physics at Raffles Institution since December 2010.
